Depth or distance is easier to perceive in a wide landscape format rather than a narrow portrait format. Apr 21,  · Hey guys, I just started working with Affinity. I am opening pictures from my drone that seem to be opening in portrait mode. I keep reading you can go into landscape mode but I cant seem to find the button for it. If my picture opens up in portrait, can I just switch it to landscape mode?

Switch your lens from automatic focus (AF) to manual focus (MF) – or if you have a manual lens, look for the infinity sign on your lens. Turn the smaller focus ring all the way to the right. Here's how to do it for one edge: Assuming you're using Affinity Designer you can use the Transparency Tool to fade the image where you need to. Just select the object and drag the the Transparency Tool over it.

Again, oftentimes in landscape photography, you are trying to capture a scene rather than a solitary thing. Many times, the scene you are trying to capture is far away from you. Most lenses have a range of focus values, and once you get beyond a certain distance (often feet, or meters) the focus is set at infinity.
